NEW RECORD FOR HAWAIIAN ISLANDS VINTAGE SURF AUCTION
HONOLULU - (July 25, 2011) -- The sixth biennial Hawaiian Islands Vintage Surf Auction, presented by Quiksilver Waterman Collection, took place in Honolulu on Saturday with $650,000 in vintage surfboards and memorabilia changing hands before a capacity crowd at the Blaisdell Center. A new auction item record was set: $41,000 for a 1920, 9'0" John Kelly redwood plank. It sold to a buyer from Connecticut, USA.

Hawaii's premier auctioneer Joe Teipel effectively managed live online bids from around the world with more than 200 bidders who turned out in person.
Other high-fetching surfboards of the night included:
- $30,000 Gerry Lopez 'Big Wednesday' Lightning Bolt
- $24,000 1934 Pacific Systems Homes 'Swastika' model
- $24,000 Pat Curren/Yater 'gun' from 1963
- $20,000 Greg Noll 'Da Cat' model from 1963
Over the past 10 years, Hawaiian Islands Vintage Surf Auction curator Randy Rarick has found new owners for hundreds of items that bring total sales for all six auctions to $3.2million.
"The 6th edition of the auction was without doubt the most successful ever," says Rarick. "Even though we limited the main auction to only 70 items this year, they fetched record numbers.
"It's incredibly satisfying for me to see two stoked individuals for every item sold: the seller, and the new owner. Surfing has always been hugely popular for its lifestyle, its athletes, and its culture. This auction is a perfect barometer of that rising growth in popularity and global interest. By honoring surfing's heritage, we will also ensure its future."
To that end, a portion of all sales will be donated to two beneficiaries: the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation, and the Surfing Heritage Foundation.

Enoch Teipel, lil' E'
on the Anniversary of his passing, 12/23/2011AD (born 12/5/97). This gift-messenger, this 51b package with more love, meaning, and value to us than I ever imagined God could possibly and eternally fit into such a compact, adorable creature, who's arrival into this world, who's entry into and mission in our lives, the immeasurable, eternal impact and joy his years brought us, and the persevering loyalty and comfort he aided us with in his dear departed brother, Metatrons' passing (7/25/2010AD), are altogether proof-positive to his surviving parents (Miho and Joe Teipel) of the divine grace of our Lord in our live(After all, He/he sent us 'CC to heal our broken hearts:)).
His very life, and even unto death, shouts then, and now from On-High, the essence of 2 Timothy 4:7. Now , more than ever, do I look forward to Heaven, because Enoch lived, and because he 'died' one year ago today.
